During this same time Islam was growing in the Middle East, Asia, and Northern Africa. These empires would begin to rival the Christian nations we have focused on. Students will be comparing and contrasting Christianity and Islam to better understand the ideological and cultural similarities and differences between these two as they relate to the Middle Ages. Students will also begin to explore Islam including the 5 Pillars of Islam, and the growth of Islam. This unit provides students a great chance to better understand the global world they live in and better understand one of the major religions of the world.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

4th Grade Team
