Dear 4th Grade Parents,

We made it! We have reached the final week of school. We are all so thankful for the support we have received this year. We have enjoyed being a part of your child’s educational journey. We hope everyone has a great summer! We do have one last event this year before we say goodbye. Revolutionary War Field Day will be held on Wednesday. Class Liaisons sent out emails last week with sign ups and more information. We are very excited to have one last day with our classes to have fun and celebrate a great year together.  
Available now is the Singapore Summer practice book (cost: $14). Parents usually purchase the grade level the student will be entering. (example: 5 is for students who have completed 4th grade). The book can be ordered here:

Academics this week:

Language Arts:

  • Writing/Grammar:  This week, we will finish up our presentations for our Revolutionary War project and discuss the project as a whole.

  • This week in literature, we will continue out poetry unit.

Science: This week we will finish our unit on the circulatory system and have an open note quiz on Tuesday.

Math:  This week we will review concepts covered this year.

History:  We will finish out unit on the American Revolution and have an open note quiz on Wednesday before our Revolutionary War Field Day Celebration.

Dear 4th Grade Parents,

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Spring Showers event, we are so grateful for all of the support and for those of you who sent in gifts and cards last week. We feel very appreciated and are so thankful for all of you! We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. We are heading into our last full week of school! On Wednesday May 22nd we will have our Revolutionary War Field Day. We will be sending more information our regarding this very shortly so be on the lookout for that email. We also want to remind everyone that as we approach the end of the school year the weather will be heating up. Please continue to send your child with a water bottle each day.

  • Writing/Grammar:  Blurb: Writing/Grammar: This week, students will be conferencing with teachers to correct their essays, turning in final drafts on Wednesday, and presenting their projects on Thursday and Friday. We look forward to seeing their creative presentations and souvenirs!

  • This week in literature, we will begin our unit on poetry.

Science: This week we will begin out unit on the circulatory system.

Math:  This week we will learn about dividing and decimals and estimating. We will also focus on word problems and have our decimal unit test on Thursday.

History:  We will continue our American Revolution unit and focus on the first battles of the American Revolution.

Dear 4th Grade Parents,

Welcome to week 8! We have an exciting and short week ahead of us!  On Thursday we have our FIne Arts Night.

On May 9th from 6pm-8pm we invite you to please join us for our annual Fine Arts Night. This is a celebration of the hard work our scholars have put into their art studies this year. In addition to this, you will be able to take a glimpse into the different language skills your students have been learning in Latin. There will be Songs, slide shows, and interactive displays showcasing the talents of vocabulary building, composition, and Latin word formation. Consider trying out Latin dialogue scripts with your student, or translating their illustrated Latin sentences.
In order to be able to accommodate everyone, we have grouped our community into two groups. Please, kindly adhere to this schedule, so that we can all move freely and enjoy the great works by our students. Refreshments will be served.
  • 6:00pm - 7:00pm (Last names A-K)
  • 7:00pm - 8:00pm (Last names L-Z)

  • Writing/Grammar:  Blurb: Writing/Grammar: This week, we will continue working on our American Revolution Figure essay in class. Students will be focusing on the virtues paragraph, introduction, and conclusion. Their typed rough draft is due in class on Thursday

  • This week in literature, we will finish Carry on Mr. Bowditch and students will write a short essay on two virtues that Nat Bowditch showed throughout the book.

Science: We will finish out Respiratory System unit with a quiz on Thursday.

Math:  This week we will learn about dividing and multiplying decimals. Students will also take a Singapore math assessment.

History:  We will continue our American Revolution unit and focus on the Boston Massacre and other events that led to the Shot Heard Round the World.
