Dear 4th Grade Parents,
We hope you all had a wonderful and restful weekend. It was a pleasure seeing everyone at conferences and we are excited for your continued partnership.
Academics this week:
Language Arts:
- Writing/Grammar: This week, we will continue to review parts of speech and will learn how to diagram a sentence including nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
- Literature: This week in literature, we will continue and finish reading Robin Hood. Students will compare and contrast the book with the cartoon version of Robin Hood.
Math: This week in math we will continue our measurement unit. Students will multiply, divide and work with fractions of measures.
Science: We will begin our electricity unit. We will focus on parallel and series circuits as well as conductors and insulators.
History: In history this week we will continue our unit on African kingdoms. Students will learn about the Trans-Saharan trade routes that connected various empires, as well as learning about important empires in Africa.
